The tour starts from the Jernbanetorget, train station in the city center at 9:00. Together we will take a train to Lillevann, and here our adventure begins! This train ride provides the best panoramic views of the Oslo fjord.
From Lillevann, we will wander through the lush forest, enjoying the smell of pine trees and fresh air. In the summer, the forest is all green and wild, with ferns and blueberry bushes.
Next stop of our tour is Voksenkollen. The hiking trail will lead us to the small, but picturesque lake called Øvresetertjern. Here, on the lake shore, we will take a rest and have a hearty break, enjoying snacks and drinks.
After the break, we will hike to the Rose Castle, an art installation and an educational project, which aims to tell the story of the occupation of Norway and of the principles of humanism. The tickets are included in price and we will spend about 30 minutes in the Rose Castle learning about the history.
Situated north to the city, this area is located 400 m above the sea level, so we will have some spectacular views of the Oslofjord. The train station Frognerseteren is located nearby. We will then take a train back to Jernbanetorget, where we started our tour earlier, at 13:00.
