Enjoy a virtual tour of Oslo, live with your own, private guide! You will meet your guide in front of the Royal Palace, where you will learn about the Norwegian Monarchy - our Royal Family is very popular. The tour will then take you past the main sights of Oslo city centre. Along the way the guide will tell you about history, culture, and our life in Norway. And also how we cope with lockdown and all the different Covid-regulations.
Passing by the University and the National Theatre, you will get to know our main street Karl Johan. This is also where the famous Norwegian author Ibsen used to walk.
We will walk to the Norwegian Parliament and on the way we will explain the interesting story about how Oslo became the capital of Norway in 1814.
We then stroll through the historical «Kvadraturen» neighbourhood seeing an old square surrounded by beautiful buildings, some of them dating back to 1650, before walking through parts of the old fortress Akershus. As we exit we see the brand new Oslo with modern architecture and some new, iconic landmarks such as the Opera House, the Munch Museum (not yet opened) and our magnificent, recently inaugurated library. This is where the tour will end.
