This tour is a full day guided tour out of Oslo, and combines the best of Oslo as well as a tour to the Glassworks situated in the Norwegian countryside. We start this tour with a scenic drive to Hadeland, making a short stop at the Queens View to admire the below area of Ringerike with fjords, farms and forests.
From here, continue the drive to Hadeland Glassworks. Founded in 1762, it is Norway’s venerable producer of fine glass. Your visit includes a glassblowers’ demonstration and a stroll through the museum, which exhibits over 700 pieces of handmade glass. There is also time to shop in one of the gift stores.
We recommend having lunch at Hadeland before beginning your return journey to Oslo. En route, we can stop at the Bygdøy Peninsula where you will find the famous Viking Ship Museum. The museum is the proud home of three graceful, original Viking ships, which are the best preserved in existence. Other highlights include artifacts and treasures unearthed from the royal burial mounds.
One of the city’s most treasured art collections is found at the Vigeland Sculpture Park. The park’s sculptures, which number more than 150, were created by one man, Gustav Vigeland. For 30 years, he worked on these statues of stone and bronze, each portraying a stage of human life from birth to death.
The tour takes 8 hours. The rate displayed is for guide and transportation. Entrance fees and lunch not included.
We also offer a 3 hour highlights tour that includes the Viking Ship Museum and the Vigeland Park.
